London Marathon 2014

I’ve taken on my biggest challenge ever for 2014, and signed up to run the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 13th April, on behalf of an amazing charity called Whizz-Kidz.  They provide wheelchairs and mobility equipment, training and support to disabled children and young people, helping them gain confidence, enjoy their childhood and become independent.  A wonderful aim.

Together with my running mate Rachel, I want to raise £3200 for Whizz-Kidz.  A sum like this could provide one powered wheelchair to help a child do things that we take for granted everyday; or it could buy and customise two lightweight sports wheelchairs to let young athletes achieve their full potential; or it could fund several skills training courses and camps for children, building ability, confidence and friendships.

You can follow our training progress and fundraising efforts here, particularly if you want to read stories of running through mud and slush over the winter while you’re tucked up all warm and cosy indoors.  And if you feel generous, you can sponsor us via our Just Giving page.

Thank you in advance for all your support.
