10 things that make me happy…

IMG_1999
There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.

1.  Getting lost in a really good book.

2.  Being outdoors in wild weather, the cold, wind and rain, then coming back indoors.  It makes the warmth and comfort more appreciated.

3.  A big mug of tea, properly made.  Brewed strong, but lots of milk, semi-skimmed of course, and no sugar.  And a bit of shortbread on the side.

4.  Penguins.

My courgettes!

5.  Growing vegetables in my little container roof garden, then harvesting them, even the tomatoes.  I can’t stand tomatoes, and give them all away.

6.  My bed, freshly made with clean sheets.

7.  Rubber duckies.  Especially the giant one.

8.  Watching the sparrows that hop around my garden, even though they prefer plant shoots to bird seed.

9.  Sparkly fairy lights.

10.  Watching the flames of a campfire.

What makes you smile?

A Giant Rubbie Duckie makes me smile:) Loving your list! My top 3 are adventuring, reading/writing and eating good eats. Happy Week!

Fun, happy things to look forward to everyday. I love outdoors too. It helps me forget worries and help me find my reasons for smiling.

Your list is pretty much my top 10 too! Only in the place of Penguins (even though they’re cute) I’d have Dolphins and although I’d love to grow my own food I haven’t yet, also even though rubber duckies make me smile… I would have to replace that one with photography and as that would be my No.1, everything else would have to move down a notch! 😀

    I love travelling.

    And geocaching.

    And Formula 1 racing.

    And Rich and Sue’s dogs.

    And… And… I could go on forever!

And like you, I also love books… especially these ones: http://jaspasjourney.wordpress.com/books/

Geocaching is something I’ve never tried, although I know the locations of a couple in my nearby country park. I shall have to give it a go.

I’ve never tried growing vegetables, but all the other things on your list brought a smile to my face! I pondered a few things I’d put on my own list:

An autumn morning, cold, crisp and bright, with trees blazing red and gold under a blue sky.

The wagtails that scoot about the carpark at my local supermarket.

    A clear, star-filled night sky.

    Falling snow under a streetlight.

Blue cheese, red wine and laughter.

Opening a new set of photos for the first time.

Walking home after a late night swim.

Learning to play a favourite song (far too long since I last did this).

    Old maps.

    The sound of the sea.

A great list Ed. I love all of those things too, except wine really. The little wagtails made me smile, I can picture seeing them while I’m waiting at the railway station, scurrying back and forward across the platform.
